How Did Hannah Recognize Her Grandfather? Dear Child Update!
Viewers started wondering how Hannah recognized her grandfather, Matthias, as soon as they were united in episode 2 of Dear Child. However, the show does not really describe how. As a result, we can assume it is still a mystery and we might have to wait for further seasons, if renewed, for clarification.
On the other hand, we also found that it has not been clarified in Romy Hausmann’s original book as well. Readers are still not convinced how Hannah was able to recognize her grandfather. They have even discussed it on GoodReads. One person wrote,

It appears the book never explained how they met and it is likely to happen in the Netflix series as well. However, we’ve previously witnessed multiple series changing the plot from the book. We’ve even seen shows explaining things books never addressed. As a result, there’s a chance Dear Child might clarify how Hannah recognized her grandfather. We can’t do anything but wait for the show to be renewed.
