Mother, Patricia Tissie Owens was not charged with the murders of her kids. But she was imprisoned for receiving assistance and a housing subsidy based on her husband’s imagined absence.

The case took over 12 years to be solved and deliver justice to the victims’ families, but, doubts about the victim’s mother’s participation in this crime persist.

Her husband Yaser, brother-in-law Yassein Abdulfatah Said, and their own son Islam was charged with honor killing.

While her husband Yaser committed the cold-blooded murder, Yassein and Islam were caught and prosecuted for plotting and harboring a fugitive for 12 and 10 years, respectively.

Yaser Abdel Said was apprehended on August 26, 2020, and sentenced to up to three decades in jail for the murder of his daughters.

In his taxicab on January 1, 2008, he shot and murdered his daughters Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17. Their remains were discovered near Irving, Texas.

Said eluded capture for 12 years until being apprehended in 2020. For deadly shootings, he was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List.

After twelve years on August 14, 2017, a break in the case appeared when a maintenance worker at an apartment complex in Bedford, Texas, where Islam resided, called the officers.

He reported seeing a guy matching Yaser’s description inside Islam’s unit.

Three years later, in August 2020, police in Justin, Texas, initiated 24-hour surveillance on a property. They saw Islam and Yassein enter and depart the house, as well as the shadow of another guy inside the house after the two men had gone.

The FBI acquired a search warrant and detained Yaser on August 26, 2020, after a week of monitoring. On the same day, they detained Islam, 32, and Yassein Abdulfatah Said, 59, in neighboring Euless, Texas.
