Astro (South Korean Band) – Members Profile, Info and Trivia
1. Astro was formed by Fantagio, one of the entertainment companies in South Korea in August 2015.
2. Before their debut, Astro members trained under Fantagio’s beginner’s talent development program called Fantagio iTeen. At the time, they were called “iTeen Boys”.
3. Prior to their official debut, Astro members featured as themselves in To Be Continued, a web drama series. They also starred in Astro OK! Ready, their own reality TV show in January 2016.
4. The group released their official debut EP, Spring Up on the 23rd of February, 2016 and it peaked at #6 on US Billboard World Album Chart within a week.
5. Astro’s fan club name is “Aroha” which they say is the short for Astro Hearts All Fans. While ‘Aro’ is taken from Astro, ‘Ha’ is taken from Hana, a Korean word that means one. Their official fan colors are plum and violet.
6. Astro was the only Korean band invited to the LeTV Entertainment Awards held in China in March 2016. The group also performed at the year’s KCON held at LA’s Staples Centre in July.
7. The group tagged her first tour “The 1st Astroad” which they embarked on from 15th July to 29th August 2017 in Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul.
8. Among other weird beauty substances and cleansing routines, Astro’s Rocky uses contact solution while Sanha applies vinegar on the face to get the perfect “Korean pretty boy” glass-smooth looks!
9. The band’s name, “Astro” is a Spanish word which means star and it reflects in the group’s official logo.
10. As of 2019, the South Korean band has released 1 studio album, 8 EPs, 8 singles, and has no less than 5 awards to their credit.
