Karl is currently consuming a healthy diet, exercising frequently, and leading a “lifestyle of less stress.”
He hasn’t felt this healthy in a long, according to everything. He exercised, ate right, and decided to get down to his weight.

Under the direction of head coach Dean Smith, he participated in three seasons of varsity play at the University of North Carolina. The Tar Heels had a 25-8 overall record and finished third in the NIT during his senior year in 1973.
The New York Knicks chose Karl in the fourth round of the 1973 NBA Draft, but he decided to join the ABA’s San Antonio Spurs instead. He played with George Gervin for three years as the team’s starting point guard.
Karl played a few minutes during the following two years when the Spurs joined the NBA in 1976 before quitting playing in 1978.
