Discover key insights regarding Country Legend Tammy Wynette and Her Unspoken Relationship with Ex-Husband Michael Tomlin.

Michael Tomlin was her fourth husband to Tammy Wynette. The country singer has been in and out of several marriages.

Wynette was only 17 years old when she married Euple Byrd. Even though their marriage was full of conflicts, the singer kept giving them second chances. They eventually divorced in 1965 and shared three daughters, Gwendolyn Lee, Jaclyn Faye, and Tina Denise Byrd.

The singer then moved to Nashville to further her career in country music. She met her second husband, Don Chapel, at Red Anchor Motel, where Chapel was working as a front desk attendant. The chapel was also an aspiring musician.

The couple got married in 1967 but ended it just after a year. Tammy had reportedly brought closer to George Jones, who was also friends with Don Chapel. Jones has also sung country songs written by Chapel.

After her divorce from Chapel, she started a romantic relationship with Jones and tied the knot in 1969 in Ringgold, Georgia. Jones’s heavy drinking and multiple relapses became the reason for the couple’s separation in 1975.

Jones and Wynette share a daughter, Tamala Georgette Jones. She married Nashville realtor Michael Tomlin in 1976, which remains the most short-lived one.

Her fifth and final marriage was to musician George Richey. Richey was acquainted with the country singer and even played the organ at the Tomlin wedding. At the same time, his wife was the matron of honor at the wedding.

Richey then divorced his wife and married Wynette in 1978. The singer’s daughter Georgette Jones claimed the couple was living in an emotionally abusive relationship, even though Wynette claimed to love Richey in front of the press.
