Paraag Marathe began his career after completing his schooling. His first big work was as an Account Associate at International Management Group (IMG). He began working at the talent management firm in 1997 and quit two years later, in 1999. He eventually landed a job as a Senior Associate Consultant with Bain & Company. He finally signed with the San Francisco 49ers in 2001. His particular professional role at the time, however, is uncertain. As someone who grew up watching 49ers games, working for the team was a childhood goal.
While he was first assigned to examine wage cap issues, he was eventually appointed as chief contract negotiator in 2004. Regardless of his current position on the squad, he continues to play the above-mentioned long-respected function. According to his job description, he was instrumental in rebuilding the team’s roster by bringing in famous players through proper negotiations. In 2010, he was appointed COO of the squad.
