Khar’s father, Khar D. Herbert, told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) that the family was incredibly proud of him when he was drafted into the NFL. Khalil has worked exceptionally hard to get this far and being Khalil; the hard work will not stop.
He also stated that it was a very emotional weekend for them because of everything to get to this point, he had to go through a lot. So for him to get drafted means he realizes his aspirations, and the parents were delighted and appreciative.
The Chicago Bears selected Khalil in the sixth round.
