Bobby Portis was born to his parents Bobby Portis Sr. and Tina Edwards. His whole family is athletic.
Bobby was born on February 10, 1995, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is the oldest of Tina Edwards’ four sons.
Jarod, Jared, and Jamaal are his three younger brothers. His mother played basketball at Hines Community College before committing to Jackson State.
Bobby went to Hall High School, where he was a four-time Arkansas state champion and competed in the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic Game in 2013.
He was also ranked as the top high school player in Arkansas, and he was named to the 2013 USA Basketball National Junior Select Team.
