The wealthy family of New York is living happily until the arrival of their second child Lilly. This is when things turn out to be different and dangerous.
Unpleasant events start to occur inside the house. Joshua’s mother, Abby has mental health problems and has to take medicine before bed.
The 9-year-old kid Joshua was closer to his uncle Ned than his parent. He considers Ned his best friend.
Joshua has no emotions, he does not feel about things, he is never sad, and can’t get along with people or be in a crowd.
He was behaving differently as the days passed by. The kid even kills the pet dog in his house and tries to look sad like his father.
He would knowingly cause disputes between his mother and grandmother, torture his sister, and trouble his mother daily.
After things start getting out of hand, his father Brad has to take leave from his office and try to help his wife by looking after their children.
The father learned that his son was mentally unstable and behaving differently. He also found the reason behind Lilly crying abruptly.
Brad saw Joshua trying to push his sister from the stairs and wanted to kill her. By this time, his mother had a complete psychotic breakdown and had to be admitted to the hospital.
Similarly, he wanted to help his son and was called a Psychologist. After the psychologist’s encounter with his son, she said that he was being abused.
Later, he also found a bruise on his back. When asked, Joshua would lie and say that he slipped, which hinted that someone was making him do the things.
Lastly, Brad takes Joshua and Lilly for a walk with the intention of knowing what’s inside his son and sorting things out.
But things turn out differently when his son mocks him to the level that he has to be abusive in order to stop him and go to jail.
