Kevin Kreider’s adoptive parents are Americans, while his biological parents are from Korea. His father, Mark Kreider, had positions as managing partner at Auction Management and president at Manheim Imports.

He has uploaded several pictures of himself and his mother to his Instagram account.

Kevin was born in Seoul, South Korea, but as a young child relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after being adopted by a white family, as he stated in the episode.

Kevin doesn’t know much about his parents aside from that. He conducts a DNA test in Bling Empire and discovers that he was born in Seoul and has Korean and Japanese ancestry.

He also discovers that his grandfather adopted him after his birth parents abandoned him. Luke Kreider is his brother, and according to Kevin, he couldn’t have asked for a more devoted family.

He lived in Philadelphia with his adoptive family until he left in his 20s to pursue modeling in Los Angeles. Kreider is 38 years old and was born on August 21, 1983. In fact, we witnessed him celebrate his 36th birthday while filming Bling Empire in 2019.

Kevin’s Curiosity Of Family History Led Him To Regression Therapy

Later, Kevin’s interest in his family history brought him to regression therapy, where he used emotions from his childhood that he had forgotten to see if he could recall his biological parents.

Kevin remembered his flight from South Korea to the U.S. and a birthday he shared with his birth family as a consequence of the session. When the therapist questioned Kevin about his ability to recall his soul’s feelings as his birth mother prepared to give birth to him, his emotions erupted.

He experienced a severe breakdown as he remembered his mother’s thoughts of having no children and her fear of getting pregnant. He obtained closure even if he did not learn many details about his birth parents.

He Grew Up In A Middle-Class Family

After growing up in a middle-class family in Philadelphia, Kreider told The Independent in an interview that he had always considered earning more than $100,000 to be a sign of accomplishment.

The reality personality claimed that after 14 years of failure after failure, a sense of stability had emerged. When Kreider worked as a personal trainer in Philadelphia, he put too much emphasis on being physically bigger, impacting his mental health.

After a few years in Philadelphia, he abandoned his clients and moved to New York. After being inspired by individuals like Ford model Daniel Liu and Godfrey Gao, dubbed the first Asian male supermodel in the world, Kreider later entered the field of modeling.

About US$26,000 in credit card debt was accumulated by Kreider. Stress-related hair loss during this time served as the impetus for him to prioritize his mental health and well-being.

He occasionally made progress toward paying off his debt, such as in 2012 when he booked his first significant commercial and applied his whole US$5,000 (S$6,600) paycheck to it. After working on the amount for a year and eventually having to move back to Philadelphia, he was able to pay it off in 2014.
