Lena Dunham recently disclosed that she had Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a genetic disease, in response to paparazzi pictures of her departing a doctor’s appointment while carrying a walking stick.

Based on the National Institutes of Health’s Library of Medicine, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a collection of diseases that damage the connective tissues that hold the skin, bones, blood vessels, and other tissues.

The American actress claimed that she spent 21 days battling COVID-19 in self-isolation by herself after having mistaken the virus’ signs for those of chronic disease, USA Today reports.

Many sufferers of this illness have delicate, sensitive skin prone to bruising and scarring. Dunham is the second famous person to confess to having Ehlers-Danlos disease in the past month.

Sia, a musician, stated that she has the condition and is experiencing chronic distress. The Better Place Actress Jameela Jamil also revealed that she had the disease.
