He Has Played Director Leon Vance Since 2008
Carroll has been a part of NCIS since 2008. He first made a guest appearance as Leon Vance in the season 5 episode “Internal Affairs.”
But at the end of season 5, after the demise of Jenny Shephard, Vance took in the role of the director of NCIS. He has been in the position for the previous 13 years now.
He had once mentioned that the changes in the team and the characters leaving the show affected him, but he managed to adapt and adjust. He also said that even the fans may have adapted to those changes.
Vance’s Wife Jackie Was Killed On The Show
Vance’s wife, Jackie, was killed when Ziva’s father, Eli, the director of Mossad, a division of the Israeli Intelligence Community, was targeted for an attack. The incident took place in Season 10, episode 11.
The culprit was later identified as Ilan Bodnar (Oded Fehr), Eli’s deputy director. Following the demise of his wife, Vance struggles to balance his job as director and his role as a father of two children.
Cote de Pablo Left The Show
Pablo joined the show in season 3 as Ziva. She continued her work with the team for more than eight years and decided to quit in 2013. Viewers were left confused by her decision to leave, but the actress did not immediately respond to the questions.
