Her parents divorced when she was four years old, and her mother remarried to Dennis Mannion, who worked as Senior Vice President of Business Ventures for the National Football League’s (NFL) Baltimore Ravens. She is American by nationality, belongs to White Caucasian ethnic group, and practices Christianity. Kate hails from a wealthy family, and attended Episcopal High School, a private boarding school located in Arlington.
At the age of 16, she suffered serious injuries after being hit by a drunk driver while she was riding her bike, after which she lost her cognitive abilities, so had to relearn reading and writing.
