Tiger King: Who Is Erik Cowie Wife? Zookeeper Found Dead at 53 -Everything to Know
Joe Exotic (real name: Joseph Maldonado-Passage) was responsible for looking after the famous Oklahoma zoo.
He was, however, found guilty of hiring men to kill a tiger named Baskin. It was found that Joe used to kill old tigers to make space for new animals.
Erik testified against Joe and confessed he saw Joe order some of the zoo animals to be shot and killed.
His confession contributed to Joe’s conviction. He was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison in 2020. It is reported he will be re-sentenced and is likely to get an early release by mid-2036.
