Who Is Vivian Salama from the Wall Street Journal? Career Details on the Reporter
Vivian Salama began her career as a newscaster for WNBC Channel after finishing her education. She joined ABC News in 2006. There, she specialized in the Middle East and rose to prominence as a Middle East correspondent.
She worked for the Associated Press in Baghdad for ten years, chronicling the development of the Islamic State organization in Iraq and its eventual collapse in Syria. She has reported from more than 75 countries over the last 20 years and has received numerous awards for her work.
She has previously worked for the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and NBC, where she covered the Trump White House and national security.
She also visited camps around the Middle East to report on the refugee and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) crises caused by the turmoil. The event prompted Salama to create The Long Journey Home, a children’s book about an innocent Syrian kid forced to escape his home due to violence.
