Bhargavi is best known for the movie Eradu Kanasu, Hanthakana Sanchu, Pallavi Anupallavi, and Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake, among others. She also appeared in the Manthana and Mukta television shows.
Narayan worked as a manager at ESI Corporation in Bengaluru before pursuing a career in the arts.
She wrote a Kannada novel, Naa Kanda Nammavaru, which was published by Ankita Pustaka in Bengaluru. Narayan spoke at the Bangalore Literature Festival in Bengaluru in 2018.
