Who Is Ben Wallace Wife Chanda Wallace? Everything About the Family of an Undrafted Hall of Fame Athlete
Ben Wallace, the former Detroit Pistons defensive player, is simply the first undrafted player to enter the hall of fame. So it is to say, hard work pays off sooner or later.
In 1996, Ben was undrafted.
Who thought the once undrafted player would make it into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame?
Ben anxiously waited to hear his name called in the 1996 NBA draft, but it never occurred.
He worked his way to join the Washington Bullets with a lot of effort before being traded to the Orlando Magic. He was then traded to Detroit Pistons, where Ben became a household name.
Ben said in an interview that those who are undrafted are lucky. They would have the chance to have their name in the Hall of Fame just like Ben if they have enough determination, patience, and hard work.
He added that he never gave up after he was undrafted. Instead, he had the urge and hunger to prove himself. That’s what helped him win the NBA Championship, All-Star Matches for four consecutive seasons, and eventually, be the first undrafted player to enter the Hall of Fame.
