Meanwhile, his mother is a Texas native, while his father is a German immigrant. His two brothers are identical twins, Simon Jakoway and Nikolai Johannes Haas, also fashion designers.
When Haas was 5, he came into the sight of casting director Margery Simkin and thus began his career in showbiz. Haas was nominated for an Emmy for his depiction of Ryan White in the television film The Ryan White Story, about an American kid who caught AIDS.
