Who Is Karen Lowery? Meet Coach Kelvin Sampson’s Wife and Family
Karen Lowery is a former professional teacher mostly known as the wife of Houston Cougars’ basketball coach Kelvin Sampson.
The former educator Lowery remains on the board of trustees at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Early Education Childhood.
Kelvin and Karen have been together since their high school days as they met in a history class. Both of them are Pembroke High School and UNCP graduates.
The couple waited for 6 years to tie the knot after getting introduced to each other.
Lowery, who is also a philanthropist, had taught school before moving to East Lansing, Michigan in 1979.
She has chaired the committee of the Washington State Games opening ceremonies and is also involved with the Philanthropic Educational Organization for nearly 3 decades.
Kelvin has high praise for his wife Karen as he calls his wife an honest and meticulous person with the heart of gold. In his own words, Karen is the best assistant coach he has ever had.
Karen Lowery is now known as Karen L. Sampson.
