In his life, he had been married twice and divorced once. At the time of his death, he was married to Dr. Sherry Luck Jarrett. Along with his wife, he had opened two medical offices, one at 79th and Stony Island and the other on the North Side. For their hard work and good deeds, the couple received a national award from Dollars & Cents magazine in 1992. The couple had welcomed their first child, Vernon C. Jarrett. And also becoming Khadija Holman’s father from Sherry’s previous relationship.
Furthermore, William had previously been married to former government official and businesswoman, Valerie Jarrett. The couple married in the year 1983, separated in 1987, and the divorce was finalized in 1988. They had welcomed a daughter, daughter Laura Jarrett, from their marriage relationship.
Unfortunately, Jarrett, who was named the new director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson Park Hospital, died suddenly of cardiac arrest at age 40. According to the sources, he has been diagnosed with Behcet’s syndrome, a rare rheumatological condition that has only been known in this country in the last 20 years. For this reason, after being transferred to Michael Reese Hospital, he was pronounced dead despite his efforts to take him to resuscitate him.
