As Braude pursued his law degree from the New York University School of Law, he ran a little retail shop named HUBE. His legal career began in South Bronx where he offered legal services starting with housing and prisoners’ rights cases.
Jim founded the National Organisation Of Legal Services Workers which was an affiliate of the United Auto Workers, an American labor union representing workers in the United States and Canada.
Jim also held other jobs including tax executive director at Tax Equity Alliance in Massachusetts and later served as the city councilor in the town of Cambridge, Massachusetts
