Alsu Valieva is on the defense team after her daughter is under investigation for possible drug use. There were three different drugs found in her blood test. And all of it is used for performance enhancement.
The US Anti-Doping Agency’s chief executive, Travis Tygart, stated that combining the three appears to “be aimed at enhancing endurance, minimizing tiredness, and encouraging more efficiency in oxygen use.”
The investigation is ongoing, but she has been allowed to compete in the Olympics, reports USA Today.
